Introduction

Within these pages we report on the spectral UV measurements made at Reading in the UK. For public information the latest data are presented as a table (example), and graphically both in the form of a daily UV index (example) and an ongoing annual trend (example).

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) also reports daily UV Index measurements from seven broadband UV monitoring sites across the UK - available here.

Daily UV forecasts for the UK are also available from the Met Office.

The spectral UV measurements are carried out by Dr. Ann Webb and her team at the University of Manchester under a Defra funded contract. If the data (example) are downloaded for research purposes then an acknowledgement of the project team and funding source (Defra) would be appreciated.
